Prajnopaya Mandala
(Learning & Service Initiatives of Our Global Community)

Prajnopaya at MIT

Based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 2002, Prajnopaya at MIT provides advanced students, beginners, as well as curious visitors from other traditions with a venue to study Buddhism. We welcome teachers from all schools of Buddhism. Resident and visiting teachers offer regular classes in meditation, Buddhist philosophy, and Buddhist art. We also provide opportunities for individuals to rejuvenate and to recommit to their spiritual growth at our periodic intensive weekend retreats.

Besides bringing together practitioners from many Buddhist traditions, Prajnopaya at MIT is also committed to promoting interfaith discussions between Buddhists and members of other religious traditions of the world.

Thecksum Shedrub Ling Retreat Center

In May 2010, His Holiness the Dalai Lama blessed our efforts to provide a wholesome space for sincere practitioners of Buddhadharma. He conferred the name “Theksum Shedrub Ling” (Land for the Study and Practice of Triyana) which affirms our continued dedication to study the Buddhadharma in a non-sectarian spirit.

Prajnopaya Foundation

The Prajnopaya Foundation is a worldwide humanitarian organization whose purpose is to alleviate suffering and care for society by developing innovative health, education and social welfare projects.

Prajnopaya is derived from Sanskrit terms Prajna (Widsom) and Upaya (compassion and skillful means). The Foundation is based on Buddhist principles of providing care for all regardless of ethnicity, religion or gender under the patronage of HH the Dalai Lama.
